Bentley Map V8i (SELECTseries 10) Help

Create

Provide a name for the new style and whether the units should be based on the device or in master units.
The Cartographic Style Editor is used to create the new cartographic style. Device units are relative to the screen and master units are in the units of the DGN file. Device units are more common as they have a common thickness regardless of zoom scale.

A style is defined by creating the components of the line from the bottom up. The effect is like layering lines one on top of the other.

Tool Icon Operation

Add Over

Adds a new line entry above the selected line.

Add Under

Adds a new line entry below the selected line.

Delete

Deletes the currently selected line.

Move Up

Move the selected line up.

Move Down

Move the selected line down.

Adding a new line will create a new entry at the selected position. In the example style below, a solid blue line is overlaid by a solid grey line and finally by a dotted green line offset upwards by one pixel.

The tools can be used to add or remove lines or adjust up and down.
Column Operation

Offset

The distance in units up or down from center. Positive numbers offset down, negative numbers offset up.

Color

Style

Width

Scale

Scales the width and style by the value entered.

Selecting OK will add the new style to the current model.

Note: The new style will only be available in the current model. To make a style or series of styles available to a project, create the style in a DGN library and share the library with the MS_DGNLIBLIST variable.
